AXELOS’ CPO Margo Leach shortlisted for Women in IT Awards
Margo Leach, Chief Product Officer (CPO) at AXELOS, a joint venture company between Capita plc. and the Cabinet Office, has been shortlisted in the Business Leader of the Year category in the 2019 Women in IT Awards.
The category recognizes exceptional leaders in technology companies and business leaders within large technology companies, who have demonstrated outstanding business leadership over the last 18 months.
Margo has been at the spearhead of one of AXELOS’ major global product development initiatives: ITIL 4. This latest update to the world's most widely used IT service management guidance has seen AXELOS engage with over 2,000 IT professionals globally to create a new comprehensive framework and accompanying certification scheme.
ITIL 4 has been designed and created to provide guide and support to people and organizations in managing their IT operations effectively in the face of digital advancements and transformation.
Commenting on her nomination, Leach said, “I’m honoured to be shortlisted in such a competitive and inspiring category. I have followed the awards closely as I believe that greater inclusion and diversity in tech will lead to better outcomes for both businesses and women.
“Much has been achieved so far but the industry still has some hurdles to overcome to turn IT into a fully inclusive and thus attractive profession for women.
“The awards are a great way to showcase women working in an extremely exciting and rapidly changing industry and it’s a privilege to be shortlisted.”
The winners of the Women in IT Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 30 January, 2019.
