Help and support from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for tax agents and advisers.

Agent toolkits

HMRC have 20 agent toolkits available for you to download and use. They are a free online resource aimed at helping you to avoid the most common errors we see in filed returns. We have recently updated the following toolkits:

  • Company Losses
  • Directors’ Loan Account
  • Property Rental
  • Capital Allowances for Plant & Machinery
  • Private and Personal Expenditure
  • Income Tax Losses

Each toolkit has a checklist identifying the key issues to address, with links to further online guidance and information. These toolkits have already helped many people reduce errors, demonstrate reasonable care and file timely and accurate tax returns.

Don’t forget to check out the current 20 toolkits regularly so that you don’t miss the changes as they happen.
