An opportunity to make your mark on future local digital skills provision

We’ve been working together with Tech Nation (the organisation that supports tech entrepreneurs and digital businesses) to put together a local digital skills Playbook - and now we need your help to enhance this valuable resource.

The Playbook is a key output of the Local Digital Skills Partnership Delivery Group, part of the Digital Skills Partnership - public, private and charity sector organisations brought together by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to boost skills for a world-leading, inclusive economy.

This local arm is chaired by our Chief Executive Helen Milner OBE and MB Christie, Chief Executive Officer of Tech Nation, and is focussing on the development and spread of local models of digital skills, as part of the wider partnership.

Once complete, the Playbook will be a guide to doing digital inclusion locally. It will help organisations to build local partnerships and support people of all ages and levels of digital skills to become an integrated part of our increasingly digital world.

We want the Playbook to be a co-designed resource and we’re relying on contributions from those with experience, knowledge and ideas of how to do digital inclusion in a local place to get involved and make this something really valuable.

This is a great opportunity to make your mark on a really important piece of work, which will be used to inform policy and support best practice for making an impact on local digital skills provision.

Whether you have an idea about how to define digital skills or how to evaluate the social and economic impacts of digital skills learning, we want to hear from you, especially if you’re a member of the Online Centres Network.

We know our members have the skills and experience in reaching people locally and teaching them about all the benefits that computers and the internet can offer. Your skills and experience mean that any contribution that you make to the Playbook will be valuable and we welcome input from all members of the Online Centres Network, including those who are supporting people of differing digital skills levels eg. those who are running a code club for children or a small business social media club.

You can find the Playbook here. Please read and add to the Playbook and make sure to add your name at the bottom, so you will be credited for your contribution.
