techUK is looking for cloud computing cyber security specialists to highlight how industry is supporting the secure use of cloud computing.  

In May 2020, techUK is launching a new campaign to celebrate the work of UK cloud computing security leaders. The UK Cloud Security Champion of the month campaign will highlight the work of industry leaders that are supporting organisations to adopt, deploy and use cloud services securely.  

Building trust and confidence in the security of cloud computing services remains fundamental to the take up, adoption and use of cloud services by organisations across the whole of the UK. Ensuring the security and privacy of data, particularly in mission critical systems, is crucial. Given the importance of cloud computing to the UK’s digital economy and society it is vital to continue to build trust in the security of cloud computing. The messages, and advice, on cloud security being delivered today must remain relevant to the current online threat environment, to how cloud services have evolved, to the new innovative ways organisations are using cloud services today and to the latest security concerns being raised by cloud users. Those working in cloud security play a key role in helping to foster and share security best practices and ensure a strong supportive structure is in place when needed. 

The purpose of techUK’s ‘Cloud Security Champion’ campaign is to showcase tech leaders that are playing a crucial role in helping to build a culture of trust and confidence in cloud computing and are helping organisations, across both the public and private sectors,  move more of their business systems and data to the cloud. This is also an opportunity to learn from those working in cloud security about the current online security landscape and examples of the strides being made in enhancing cloud security.  

A new Cloud Security Champion will be selected each month and techUK will publish an interview with them to gain valuable insights from their career and experiences.
