Audit Wales - Preparations for the end of Brexit transition

Welsh public services are facing the challenge of preparing for Brexit while also dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following our report ‘Preparations in Wales for a ‘no-deal’ Brexit’ in February 2019 and a follow-up letter setting the key challenges for public services in September 2019, this letter outlines the latest position.

“The move to a new relationship with the EU is a critical issue for the well-being of the citizens and communities of Wales. Despite the competing priorities at present, that means putting significant resources in place to provide sufficient capacity to deliver the necessary actions and to bolster the resilience of public services both in the short and longer term.”

Adrian Crompton, Auditor General
