BBC Breakfast presenter to host our Future Renting North conference

BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin has been confirmed as the host of the RLA’s Future Renting North conference in two weeks time.

Louise, who has also been a main anchor of the BBC News Channel for last fifteen years, has covered the main news stories of the last decade, including the 7/7 London bombings, the capture of Colonel Gaddafi, and the BP oil spill.

She will host as an unmissable line up of speakers address over two hundred property professionals at the conference, taking place at the Concorde Conference Centre on 24th April 2018.

The keynote speaker at the conference is the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.The former cabinet minister and Greater Manchester MP has previously vowed to tackle the housing crisis in the region as one of his key election promises and has also spoken of plans to create a Good Landlord Scheme to ‘better regulate private rented sector landlords’.

Also speaking at Future Renting North will be The Property Ombudsman, Katrine Sporle CBE.She will be giving an update on the key issues affecting the private rented sector, including the proposals to ban tenant fees, and to introduce a new fitness standard.

Future Renting North is suitable for anyone with an interest in private rented housing, from landlords with just one property, to those with larger portfolios, letting agency owners, local authority councillors and officers, journalists, and housing charities.

Representatives from the DWP will also be on hand to talk Universal Credit and the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants will discuss a recent legal challenge that they are launching on Right to Rent.

Delegates will also be able to hear from cryptocurrency expert and former candidate on BBC Apprentice star Adam Hosker.

Future Renting North is the second date in the RLA’s exciting new conference programme. Delegates will also have the chance to take a free tour of the iconic aircraft, Concorde.

The conference follows on from the success of the Future Renting Wales event in Cardiff last year, which was attended by more than 200 delegates. A third conference will be held in London this Autumn.
