CBI Scotland response to First Minister's Covid statement

CBI Scotland yesterday responded to First Minister's Covid statement.

Tracy Black, CBI Scotland Director, yesterday said:

“Beginning to lift restrictions from next week is a welcome step, with ongoing measures continuing to have a cooling effect on Scotland’s economy.

“Progress must now be made quickly to remove remaining restrictions, including the legal requirement to work from home, which is doubtless harming city centres, especially hospitality.

“Meanwhile firms across Scotland’s economy are continuing to do all they can to protect their staff and customers, as they’ve done from the outset of the pandemic.

“And CBI Scotland looks forward to working with the Scottish Government as it considers a consistent approach to living with the virus – and its variants. This is vital for confidence and to avoid the economic damage done by moving between restrictions and normality.”
