CBI comments on launch of 'Help to Grow' scheme

The CBI yesterday commented on the Government’s plans to introduce a Help to Grow scheme to support SMEs to lift productivity.

Tony Danker, CBI Director-General yesterday said:

“Smaller businesses are lacking the cash and capacity to keep innovating after investing heavily to adapt and survive in 2020. Help to Grow could make a real difference on the ground.

“The UK has some of the most productive companies in the world, but also a long tail who are not yet firing on all cylinders.

“Management training, access to digital advice and making productivity-enhancing software more affordable will all help smaller businesses become more effective and play their full part in driving the economic recovery.”
