CBI responds to the Government's £283 million investment in UK transport

Responding to the £283 million investment in buses, trams and light rail around the UK, Tom Thackray, CBI Director of Infrastructure, said:

“Safety is at the very heart of business thinking as the UK begins to reopen. As more people start to go into work this investment in our transport system will ensure people can do so safely.

“The boost in spending on buses and trams will also bolster key regional routes which are the lifeblood of communities and key workers. And in the long term, this is a crucial step in delivering on the Government’s ambitions of levelling up the country.”
