The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of two senior commercial specialists who will both join its Senior Leadership Team.
CCS is an Executive Agency and Trading Fund of the Cabinet Office responsible for government procurement of common goods and services.
Peter Lawson joins CCS on October 12 as Strategic Category Director - People. Peter will be based in London. He joins from ISS, the international facilities management company, where he has held the position of Head of Procurement & Property for the UK & Ireland. Prior to this Peter has held leadership roles in a number of blue chip organisations including GE, Barclays, RBS and The Burton Group.
Samantha Ulyatt is to join CCS as Strategic Category Director - Buildings on November 7. Sam will be based in Liverpool and joins us from her previous role working for the nuclear business of Babcock International heading up their supply chain function. Previously Sam has also held senior roles at both E-On and United Utilities.
This follows on from a previous announcement concerning the internal promotion of David Skinner to the role of Strategic Category Director - Corporate Solutions.
Malcolm Harrison, CCS Chief Executive said: “I am delighted to welcome Peter and Sam to the CCS Senior Leadership Team - they each bring a wealth of experience to their roles.”
“CCS faces a range of key challenges, including ensuring our Category Strategies are best in class, so as to deliver maximum value to our customers. We must also continue the development of CCS to be operationally excellent and customer focussed.”
“Strengthening our senior team with experienced leaders who have deep knowledge of specific categories will help us meet our objectives and ensure CCS is best-placed to provide the best possible value for the taxpayer.”
Government Chief Commercial Officer Gareth Rhys Williams said: “It’s a great reflection on CCS and the exciting steps being taken that we’ve been able to attract Sam and Peter; they will complement the existing senior leadership team and help us further improve what we can deliver for our customers; their range of experience will be a tremendous asset and will be an important part of helping CCS meet its cost reduction and performance targets.”
