Following the publication of the Cairncross Review’s final report into the UK news industry today, Vinous Ali, Head of Policy at techUK said:

Given the foundational importance of a strong and independent media to a healthy democracy it is absolutely right that we understand and adapt where necessary to meet the full implications of this rapid change.

“Dame Frances surfaces the many complexities and nuances of the issues at play here, some of which predate the emergence of new digital platforms. There is a clear need for us to work together to secure the future of public-interest news, investigative journalism and local news reporting.
