Call for #techUKSmarterState guest blogs!

On 2 September, techUK will hold its Building the Smarter State Week looking at everything from people & place to procuring for innovation.

In the run-up to our flagship public services conference – Building the Smarter State on 18 September 2019 – we will be holding a campaign week (02 – 06 September) consisting of member and stakeholder blogs unpacking what a smarter state will look like and the technologies that will help make the vision a reality. We would be delighted to have you contribute to the #techUKSmarterState campaign. If you’ve not had a chance to register for this year’s conference which will focus on people and place, you can do that here.

Each day during the week there will be a different topic with blog posts, tweets (to #techUKSmarterState) and case studies surrounding each of those themes. This could be a thought leadership blog post (max 600 words) which can contain case study material or a video that demonstrates your view on this issue. We’d like to invite you to contribute to one of the topics outlined below.

  • Future gazing: What does the Smarter State look like; the technologies re-imagining public services to solving complex problems; and the future tech trends.
  • People: Future workforce; skills needed; bringing citizens on the journey
  • Smart places: The role of tech in creating places where citizens want to live, work and feel safe; improving outcomes through a place-based approach
  • Procuring for innovation: How can procurement enable innovation; fostering the GovTech eco-system; the role of leadership in creating a digital first-mindset and right culture for innovation to flourish
  • Digital ethics in the public sector: Embedding ethical decision making in business decision making
