Committee Welcomes Clarity on MOT Tests
Michelle McIlveen MLA, Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Assembly’s Infrastructure Committee has welcomed clarity on MOT testing, following a statement to the Assembly by the Minister.
Ms McIlveen MLA yesterday said:
“The issues that MOT centres have been facing since January are still to be resolved fully and this has not been made any easier by the requirements of responding to Covid-19.
“I am therefore pleased that the Minister has taken a number of steps which will enable drivers to continue to use their vehicles legally. Providing Temporary Exemption Certificates for a full year will ease the burden on MOT centres when they begin to test vehicles again and is, I believe, a practical solution to a problem affecting everyone.”
