From Glasgow to London and Belfast to Newport, the CyberFirst Girls Competition’s regional finals will be taking place simultaneously this weekend with almost 12,000 girls taking part for a place at the Grand Final in Wales.

The contests will take from 11am across 18 UK locations with regional finals introduced for the very first time since the competition’s founding. The regional finals will allow schools to compete to become local champions as well as earn an opportunity to take part in the Grand Final in March.

Launched four years ago, the CyberFirst Girls Competition aims to help boost interest in cyber security among young females who are under-represented in the industry currently.

Previous winners of the competition have been:

  • Lancaster Girls Grammar School (2017)
  • The Piggott School, Berkshire (2018)
  • Royal Masonic School for Girls, Hertfordshire (2019)

If you’d like to follow updates from all the regional finals, then you can keep track using the NCSC’s social media channels:

The successful teams attending the Grand Final in Wales next month will be announced on Monday 10th February.
