Welcome to the summer edition of the Decarbonisation Programme Newsletter providing latest news from across the Programme.
Shortly after the Prosperity for All: A Low Carbon Wales was published, the Welsh Government declared a climate emergency. This was followed by the National Assembly becoming the first Parliament in the world to vote in support of such a declaration.
To address the emergency in June, the Welsh Government accepted the UK Committee on Climate Change’s advice for a 95% emission reduction by 2050 and also committed to going even further and achieving net zero emissions no later than 2050. Read on to find to more.
