Department of Health and Social Care seeks new Chair to lead NICE Board

Applications must be received by midday on 7 May 2019

The Department of Health and Social Care is looking to appoint a new Chair to lead the NICE’s Board, when David Haslam steps down after more than 6 years in the role, later this year.

As chair of the Board, the successful candidate will work with NICE’s other non-executive directors and the senior management team to develop the organisation’s strategy business planning and to hold its executive team to account in the delivery of its objectives.

Since 1999, NICE has provided national guidance and advice that helps achieve better care and outcomes for people using health and care services, and more efficient use of resources.

As NICE enters its third decade, it is adapting and evolving to keep pace with the new technologies and practice that have the potential to transform outcomes in health and social care.
