ESMA Publishes 24th Extract From Its EECS Database

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU securities markets regulator, today publishes the 24th extract from its database of enforcement decisions on financial statements.

The extract includes eight decisions taken by European enforcers in the period between May 2018 and October 2019. The decisions cover a number of topics, including identification of performance obligations, liquidity risk of notes with an early redemption option and deferred tax assets related to a change in accounting policy due to first application of IFRS 9.

The purpose of publishing these decisions is to provide issuers and users of financial statements with relevant information on the reading that European enforcers had of IFRS in relation to specific fact patterns. Providing this information contributes to a consistent application of IFRS across the European Economic Area (EEA).

ESMA will continue to publish extracts from the EECS database on a regular basis.
