Finalists in the FAB Awards 2019 – learner of the year, qualification of the year and innovation of the year
As the awarding and assessment industry prepares to celebrate success at the FAB 2019 Awards, we’re excited to announce that we’re shortlisted as finalists in not one, but 3 categories.
The FAB Awards recognises the contributions made by awarding organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year.
NCFE is a finalist in the following categories:
Learner of the Year, nominee Mark Miles
This award recognises outstanding achievement of an individual learner. We nominated Mark Miles, a Prison Officer and former learner at Ashfield Comprehensive School in Nottingham, as he has shown himself to be deserving of this accolade not only through his achievements, but also through overcoming significant adversity and being a real role model to others.
Qualification of the Year, for RSHE
Relationships & Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education (HE) is going to be compulsory for schools by September 2020. Our new suite of RSHE qualifications ensure that schools are compliant with 100% of the recommendations set out by the government.
Innovation of the Year, for CACHE Alumni
CACHE Alumni is our professional membership service for those working within the ‘CACHE sector’. Since its launch, it’s grown quickly, with over 5,500 members currently receiving support in the form of sector news and policy updates, articles from subject specialists and sector experts, and CACHE developed short e-learning courses which introduce topics and ideas to members’ practice.
Alongside the support for those already working in the sector, CACHE Alumni has updated its offer for careers support, partnering with the Care Leaver Covenant, Tinies Inspiring a Future in Childcare Campaign, and becoming part of the Careers Leader Toolkit for schools.
Here at NCFE, we’re getting excited about the forthcoming awards, and we have our fingers crossed for the big win in all 3 categories!
