From Busan to Brighton

We are co-investing £1.4 million in international collaboration and exchange with Arts Council Korea. 21 performing and visual arts projects in England and South Korea will receive awards from the fund.

The investment announced yesterday by Arts Council England and Arts Council Korea will bring exceptional work to UK audiences, support collaborations between English and South Korean artists and create opportunities for English arts in South Korea.

Our contribution to the fund is part of our £18 million investment in international exchange, partnership and growth in 2015-18.

The Arts Council England–Arts Council Korea co-investment sits alongside and complements the UK/Korea 2017–18 season, jointly organised by the British Council and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea.

Some projects begin soon and will bring extraordinary original work to audiences in the UK. Others will enable longer-term arts exchanges between South Korea and England. The projects include a number of residency exchanges for visual artists and opportunities for emerging talent in each country to co-create new work.
