GCS launches new inclusive campaigns guidance

The Government Communications Service (GCS) has launched a new piece of guidance titled ‘Five principles to make your campaigns more inclusive’.

Inclusivity needs to be woven into all elements of campaigns. Directors of Communication across the GCS have established five principles which should be considered in OASIS plans. These cover:

  • Creative
  • Channel selection
  • Community engagement 
  • Language
  • Accessibility

Alex Aiken, Executive Director of Government Communication yesterday said:

“As government communicators, it is vital that we make our communication as clear, comprehensible and accessible as possible.

“I urge all colleagues to use these five principles when planning a campaign.”
