Global study seeks to clarify project profession salaries and career structures

UK project professionals are being invited to take part in a research initiative that will shine new light on our profession.

The International Project Management Association (IPMA) is conducting an international comparative study that aims to understand the salary and career structures in project management. The study will give a broader overview of the world market and potential career paths in project management.

The IPMA is conducting the study in partnership with EBS University in Germany.

Project professionals residing in the UK, or UK citizens working abroad are urged to take part and share their feedback by taking part in a survey. Doing so will enable those working in the profession to compare and benchmark their salaries with the industry average on a national and international scale.

Dayner Proudfoot, head of brand and communication at APM, said: “Project work is taking on an increasingly important role in today’s economy. Project practitioners are at the forefront of delivering in the face of change, or delivering change itself. The project profession needs to be better understood to help build the profile and respect it warrants.

“I would encourage all UK-based project professionals and those working on projects overseas to share their knowledge and insight to help APM and the IPMA create the clearest possible picture of our profession.”

The IPMA survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and your participation will contribute to a deeper understanding of the forces shaping project salaries in the UK and around the world. All results will be treated anonymously and confidentially. The survey will run until 30 January.
