Government announces funding for social housing
Speaking at the National Housing Federation Summit yesterday (Wednesday 19 September 2018) the Prime Minister announced more funding for social housing.
In response, Matt Harrison, Director of Business and Social Enterprise at Homeless Link, said:
“We welcome the Government’s announcement of a further £2 billion to build social housing in the future. This, along with the commitment to working with housing associations over the long-term to build more affordable homes, is a positive step. To end homelessness for good, we need to tackle the current housing crisis and increase the availability of genuinely affordable housing so that everyone has a place to call home."
