ITN Productions programme to put public sector digital transformation in the spotlight

In a unique communications partnership, Socitm and ITN Productions are producing a news and current affairs-style programme exploring the changing digital landscape within public services.

The production will not only look at why collaborative working is more essential than ever, but also why digital transformation should be seen as bringing a step change in cost-effectiveness. The programme will highlight best practice, new technologies and the breakthrough ideas that are having a positive impact on our public services.

With a growing demand on services and declining budgets, local councils need to change their digital mind set. Creating new digital services, not just IT, is often seen as a huge investment – but the programme will expose how collaborating and implementing effective digital technology improves service delivery.

Digital Transformation will play an important role for Socitm in shaping its communication and ideas for improving and implementing digital services – while telling positive stories about the work being done within public services and communities across the country.

Anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky, and drawing upon ITN’s 60-year heritage and expertise in storytelling, the news-style piece will combine key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations.

Digital Transformation will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring industry and government partners, journalists, writers and bloggers, and will premiere during Socitm’s Annual Conference on 9-10 October at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. You can view a teaser for the programme here.

Socitm’s Chief Executive, Adrian Hancock, said: “I’m really excited about this partnership. ITN’s production values mixed with Socitm’s knowledge and expertise will create the ideal vehicle for delivering the urgent narrative on collaborative working and digital transformation in the public sector.”

Simon Shelley, ITN Productions’ Head of Industry News, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Socitm to produce Digital Transformation, a programme that will explore the rapid changes in the digital landscape of our public services. We hope that this programme will be shared so that knowledge and ideas can be pooled, to ultimately improve service delivery.”
