Italy gears up for next spring’s elections

In the wake of a new electoral reform in Italy, eyes are slowly turning to Rome as the next important test for European politics, with elections due next spring.  Open Europe’s Enea Desideri assesses what each of the main contenders in Italy could mean for the future of EU and Brexit negotiations.

While much uncertainty reigns over the possible result of the next elections, proposed electoral reform has implications for the chances of different political forces – particularly Eurocritical and Eurosceptic parties – to enter into power.
