LGA responds to report on support for people living with arthritis

Chairman of the Local Government Association Community Wellbeing Board, Cllr Ian Hudspeth, responds to the report by Versus Arthritis on home support for people living with arthritis.

“Councils are committed to supporting people’s independence and wellbeing, including preventing or delaying the onset of conditions, and it’s very encouraging that aids and adaptions are already making a positive difference to 94 per cent of people who use them.

“It is vital that all parts of the health and care sector work effectively in partnership to ensure that people are signposted to the right information, advice and services to support their needs.

“Councils already work with voluntary, private and public sector partners to make sure that the right information and advice is available, and will continue to do so to support people to live healthy and fulfilling lives.”
