APM Volunteer Achievement Awards 2020 nominee: Education Volunteer of the Year.

Lectures to share learning

Dr Hugo Minney, ChPP, RPP, FAPM delivered three lectures to university Masters level students on the subject of benefits and value management, on behalf of APM, during the APM year. These were in addition to the student attendance at Dr Minney’s other APM talks, which combine practical experience with cutting edge advancement of the profession.

The University lectures and talks came about as a result of the authoring and publication of APM’s “A guide to using a benefits management framework”. Durham University Business School talk was before publication, and the winner of the quiz received a copy once the book became available. This was arranged through APM’s North East branch.

Edinburgh’s Herriot Watt University’s MSc course in Project Management enjoyed a lecture in the afternoon, and many of the students also attended an APM talk in Edinburgh in the evening which covered the subject matter for a more mature and experienced audience, as a guest of APM’s Scotland branch.

APM’s North West branch arranged for Dr Minney to speak at, and give out the awards to,

the Masters student Management of Projects awards for Manchester University MSc in Project Management, in an engagement fortuitously just before the Covid-19 lock-down.

Dr Minney continues to deliver a busy programme of blogs, events, and publications, and to lead the APM Benefits and Value SIG, as an active volunteer for APM.
