The debate will be led by Petitions Committee member Elliot Colburn MP. MPs from all parties can take part, and the Government will send a Minister to respond.

Prevent any restrictions on those who refuse a covid-19 vaccination

The petition, which has more than 315,000 signatures, states that the Government should: “Prevent any restrictions being placed on those who refuse to have any potential covid-19 vaccine. This includes restrictions on travel, social events, such as concerts or sports. No restrictions whatsoever.”

In response to the petition, the Government said: “There are currently no plans to place restrictions on those who refuse to have any potential covid-19 vaccine.”

What are petitions debates?

Petitions debates are 'general' debates which allow MPs from all parties to discuss the important issues raised by one or more petitions, and put their concerns to Government Ministers.
