Meet AXELOS' ITIL® Team
Blog posted by: Sophie Collins-Waters, 24 May 2017.
Being responsible for ITIL – the most widely-accepted approach to IT service management (ITSM) in the world – means having the best team to ensure ITIL continues to help you excel in your job.
That’s why AXELOS has boosted the ITIL team to support the work of Kaimar Karu, our Head of Product Strategy and Development, in understanding what organizations around the world require from ITIL, how its guidance is seen today, and then responding to these requests with product improvements and enhancements.
Meet the new ITIL Team members at SITS17
To make this happen, Kaimar has been joined by Akshay Anand, Julia Harrison, and Roman Zhuravlev. The team are hosting the ITIL Research Hub at SITS 17 in London. The space, next to the VIP area, serves as an opportunity for the team to meet with and seek feedback from ITSM professionals about their experience with adopting ITIL, their challenges and their successes, to help us improve the value of ITIL for the global ITSM community.
Our new ITIL team members have more than 50 years’ IT and ITSM experience between them, and have worked in senior IT management roles across process engineering, IT operations, service desk and ITSM training and consultancy.
Expertise supplementing experience
Their expertise supplements Kaimar’s career experience spanning software development, IT operations, ITSM and project and programme management. Though based in London, he has retained the position of President of itSMF Estonia since 2013 and travels extensively to identify emergent best practices around the world.
Kaimar said: “At a time of rapid and significant change in how technology is used in organizations worldwide, we have also seen evolving ways of working and delivering value, including various agile practices, and the DevOps movement. These new ways of working are an excellent opportunity for ITSM professionals to further improve their own practices, allowing them to be quicker and more flexible in responding to the needs of their customers.”
Offering support to ITSM professionals
“ITIL Practitioner, the newest ITIL publication from AXELOS, has created a pathway for ITSM professionals to better leverage new practices and we aim to further assist organizations and individuals on their improvement journey.”
“The expanded ITIL team is here to listen and understand the challenges faced today by practitioners tasked with managing IT services and services that transcend IT across different departments in organizations. Please use the team to get your voice heard, and to participate in the shaping of ITIL of the future.”
The Service Desk and IT Support Show (SITS) is the UK’s leading free event for Service Desk and IT Support Professionals taking place from 7-8 June 2017 in Olympia, London.
Register today to join the ITIL team at our ITIL Research Hub – located next to the VIP area.
