Mental Health Awareness week 2020-support for landlords and tenants

Almost a quarter of adults living under lockdown in the UK have felt loneliness, according to a new study by the Mental Health Foundation.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, an annual awareness week organised by the foundation.

The theme this year is Acts of Kindness, and was chosen by the charity in response to the current pandemic, and has its own dedicated social media hashtag #kindnessmatters.

It is fair to say over the last few months during the Covid-19 pandemic, the NRLA has heard from many members about some the extra acts of kindness landlords are showing, to support their tenants at this unusual time.

Twickenham based landlord Ben Khosa has volunteered to help deliver shopping to some of his vulnerable tenants and is helping homeless people and key workers.

Manchester based landlord Sian Astley has been helping keep her NHS tenants connected by organizing fun cookery competitions over Whatsapp, and Liverpool based landlord Tim is looking out for the welfare of his vulnerable tenants.
