During the October Plenary Tony Lavender recently (23 October 2020) announced that Dr Abhaya Sumanasena is succeeding him as Chair.

The work of the UK SPF is driven by the Steering Board which until the October Plenary was Chaired by Tony Lavender. For two and a half years Tony has done an excellent job as the Steering Board Chair, and has now passed on the baton to the former Steering Board Vice-Chair, Dr Abhaya Sumanasena.

The UK SPF would like to thank Tony for all the work he has conducted in this role and we look forward to working with Abhaya in his new capacity. We are delighted that Tony will stay on as Chair of Cluster 3, Spectrum Value and Efficiency.

Both Tony and Abhaya represent sponsoring Steering Board members, Plum Consulting and Real Wireless respectively.

Dr. Abhaya Sumanasena the Spectrum and Regulatory lead at Real Wireless and new UK SPF Steering Board Chair recently commented:
