Ofcom re-awards the Torbay commercial radio licence to The Breeze
Ofcom has today announced that The Breeze (Celador Radio Limited), the incumbent licensee, has been re-awarded the FM local commercial radio licence for Torbay in Devon.
Ofcom received two applications for the licence, from Celador Radio Limited (The Breeze) and Exe Broadcasting Limited (Devon Sound).
After giving careful consideration to the two applications submitted, Ofcom has awarded the licence to The Breeze.
The Breeze will provide “A full local service dedicated to listeners in Torbay combining a wide variety of classic and contemporary music together with a high-quality, distinctive range of speech and information features focused on matters of local interest and relevance.”
Ofcom has also published a statement setting out the key determining factors for the award of this licence PDF, 110.6 KB which will be issued for a twelve-year period.
