Operating model for quality assessment: Annual Provider Review

HEFCE has yesterday published guidance on arrangements for Annual Provider Review (APR) in 2016-17 (Note 1). (Note 1). The APR is a key element of the revised operating model for quality assessment, which is designed to be proportionate, risk-based and grounded in the context of an individual university or college.

The process builds on established approaches, and uses peer review and external scrutiny to provide students, their parents, employers and the wider public with assurances about the quality of the student academic experience and student outcomes and the reliability of degree standards.

HEFCE will be undertaking the APR process for publicly funded higher education providers in England, and for Northern Ireland providers on behalf of the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland.
