Registration For Get Online Week 2017 Is Open

We are very happy to announce that registration for Get Online Week 2017 event holders is now open.

The campaign will take place 2-8 October, and this year we’re asking you to hold events that will help everyone to  Try 1 Thing - use the internet to do just one thing that they usually do offline.

With 15.2 million people in the UK still not making full use of the internet, we think everyone should have the chance to develop these skills, and what better way than choosing one everyday task or hobby, and getting help to give it a go online?

It could be their first time shopping online or a first video call. It could be setting up online banking or GP appointments. It could even be just listening to their favourite music - anything that they haven’t had the skills or confidence to try before now.

We want to see Get Online Week events in community venues all across the UK, where friendly staff and volunteers will help people take their next steps to being confident, capable and safe users of the internet - by trying just one new thing online.

We’ll be sending event holders everything they need to get people to come to their local events (posters, leaflets and more) and items to help them make their Get Online Week event go with a bang (balloons, pens, badges to name just a few). We’ll even be providing games and handouts to help you help people Try 1 Thing.

Packs will be going out in the next few weeks but there will be limited numbers, so sign up now to make sure you get yours.

To sign up, simply head over to the Get Online Week website, log in and register your organisations. If you have a login for the Online Centres Network website, use the same username and password and the details of all your Online Centres will be pre-populated.

There will be lots of more information about Get Online Week coming in the next few weeks, so as well as registering as an event holder, sign up yourself - and any colleagues who’d like to be kept in the loop - for the Get Online Week newsletter.

We look forward to having you on board the biggest digital inclusion campaign in the UK!
