Care Quality Commission
Release of analysis of hospital admission data
We have released the analysis of hospital admission data we completed for Jeremy Hunt which formed the basis of statements he made around the number of patients in good and outstanding hospitals.
The analysis was completed following a request from the Department of Health and Social Care to help Mr Hunt prepare for his speech to the NHS Confederation annual conference in summer last year. It was then updated in March this year using ratings from that time and the admissions data from 2017/18 which had become available.
We have published this data in response to a request from the Office for Statistics Regulation to ensure open and equal access to all to the analysis.
