Seeking support during the coronavirus outbreak
We know that this is a challenging and uncertain time for everyone and that the coronavirus outbreak is having an impact on so many aspects of our lives.
That’s why we want to reassure you that CCW is working closely with the water industry, regulators and Government to make sure the water and sewerage services we all depend on remain safe and reliable throughout this health crisis – while water companies also protect the workforce that provides us with these essential utilities.
One thing you can be certain of is that your drinking water remains among the safest in the world. Water supplies are disinfected as part of the treatment process to remove all harmful pathogens, including viruses. You can find further reassurance on the Drinking Water Inspectorate’s website.
CCW is also acutely aware that the outbreak will have a detrimental impact on some households’ finances, making it harder for some people to afford water bills. Companies already have a raft of schemes that can help customers, including payment breaks, flexible payment plans and social tariffs to reduce the bills of customers on a low income.
We’re working closely with companies to see how this support can be expanded further but if you’re struggling to pay – don’t delay. Ask your supplier for help today.

It’s also worth asking your company about its free priority services if you think your circumstances now or in the future mean you might require additional help accessing any aspect of your water and sewerage services, particularly if there is disruption to your water supply.
