Success for APM at Association Excellence Awards

Association for Project Management’s virtual conference, Think Differently, has been awarded a top prize at the Association Excellence Awards.

The event, which took place last year and focused on redefining diversity in projects, was named overall winner in the category of ‘Best Association Virtual Event (over 700 delegates)’.

The Association Excellence Awards celebrate the work that associations, trade organisations, unions and industry bodies carry out on behalf of their members.

The judges were impressed by Think Differently’ strong line-up of speakers, it’s innovative use of technology and the positive benefits it brought to attendees.

Kate Ferrier, event sponsorship and sales manager, collected the award on behalf of the APM’s Events team. She yesterday said:

“It feels great to have won. We produced Think Differently 2020 during a difficult time, coming out of the pandemic, so everyone was ready for a fantastic virtual event.”

APM’s Service Innovation team was also shortlisted in the ‘Best Association Team’ category at the awards, which took place at the Kia Oval in London.

Claire Wormsley, director at GCN Events, which organised the awards ceremony, said: “This year's entries gave the judges plenty to consider when selecting the winners. There were so many strong entries. Congratulations to all our winners and finalists.”

What the judges said about Think Differently 2020:

"Great team work to make this event happen"

"Comes across as very well organised. Key factors were well set out... Use of networking volunteers was innovative"

"What a great event with fantastic metrics – well done"
