Tech Partnership Degrees becomes TechSkills

Tech Partnership Degrees, a techUK company, is today rebranding to TechSkills - www.techskills.org. The organisation brings together employers and educators in partnership to develop the digital talent industry needs

The new name of TechSkills is clear, simple and relevant. It supports our mission to create and promote industry valued pathways into digital careers, both at degree level and beyond. It also enables closer alignment with techUK, helping us to strengthen links with employers and government.

TechSkills takes forward the current work of Tech Partnership Degrees, including the Tech Industry Gold accreditation, which recognises courses that meet industry standards for quality and relevance to employment. Over 5,000 people are already undertaking Tech Industry Gold accredited programmes, and we will be building on this to increase the range of opportunities for people from all backgrounds to enter digital careers.

The company continues to be led by its Employer Board of tech leaders from all sectors. It is supported by its wider employer network, 10,000 registered subscribers and, since becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of techUK in October 2020, is benefitting from increasing engagement with the trade association’s own 800+ strong employer membership. In an increasingly digital society with a rapidly changing workplace, everyone needs new skills to thrive. I am very proud of the work Tech Partnership Degrees has done -  and the Tech Partnership / e-skills UK before it -  to bring together employers and education, transforming curricula and giving thousands of people the skills to succeed. This evolution into TechSkills will strengthen our impact as part of the techUK family, helping to raise the profile of our partnerships and work, and enabling many more people to benefit from the Tech Industry Gold quality which makes such a tangible difference to employability and careers.
Phil Smith, CBE, Chair, TechSkills
When the pandemic broke out, much of the world moved online overnight. This acceleration of digital transformation, whilst positive, has been accompanied by rapid unemployment as the economy shut down. If we are to take everybody with us as we readjust, we must keep pace with technology by offering access to the skills needed to thrive in this digital reality. TechSkills, in partnership with techUK, is committed to opening doors and creating opportunities for all. This new and ambitious initiative reflects the breadth of business commitment, including partnering with a growing community of universities and training providers to develop the digital talent industry needs. Economic recovery must have digital jobs at its heart and strive to empower people from every walk of life with the skills they need to prepare for what comes next.
