The EU needs to cut out the amateur dramatics over Brexit and prepare to talk trade

When President Tusk visited Downing Street he said that the UK had not made "sufficient progress yet" to allow the Brexit talks to move on to discussing trade.  In an article which previously appeared in the Telegraph, Open Europe’s Henry Newman argues that it's time the EU switched to parallel discussions.

A particular irony is that despite their public refusal to discuss future issues, Brussels has sought to open discreet talks with the UK on what our and their World Trade Organisation tariff and quota regime should look like after Brexit.  They are hardly playing by their own rules.
