Health Education England recommended in a report published on Wednesday that greater attention should be paid to the mental health and wellbeing of NHS staff as any improvements could significantly improve staff retention and reduce sickness rates.

Short-term Prison Sentences

The Rt Hon David Gauke MP gave a speech for Reform in which he called for an end to short prison sentences and a smarter approach to managing offenders.

Homeless Patients

An investigation by The Guardian this week revealed a sevenfold increase since 2008 in the number of hospital visits from homeless people suffering from preventable illnesses like pneumonia and hepatitis C.
