UK-EU agreement on the transition takes us one step closer to a smooth Brexit

The UK and the EU have announced that agreement has been reached on a post-Brexit transition period. Open Europe's Aarti Shankar analyses the progress made today and the challenges that still remain.

The announcements signal important progress in negotiations and reduce the likelihood of a “no-deal” Brexit. However, with the issue of the Irish border still looming up ahead, the road to Brexit is not yet free of obstacles.
