Welsh businesses win Great Faces of British Business competition
Stephen Crabb: "These winners represent Welsh innovation and drive at its best"
Secretary of State for Wales Stephen Crabb yesterday (27 January 2015) praised three Welsh businesses who have won the GREAT Faces of British Business competition.
The Business is GREAT Britain campaign launched the competition in 2014, in association with BT Business, to find the most innovative and exciting UK businesses.
The winners are:
- Deli a Go Go in Cardiff named Best Growth Story in Wales.
- Henllan Bread in Denbigh named Best Exporter in Wales.
- Wales Interactive in Bridgend named Most Innovative Small Business in Wales.
All three businesses are now in the running to win the national competition and the top prize of £30,000 worth of UK government support.
Welsh Secretary Stephen Crabb said:
I’m delighted that these three Welsh businesses have won this prestigious prize.
Small businesses are the engine room of the Welsh economy and these winners represent Welsh innovation and drive at its best. Like many small businesses in Wales, they are run by hard working people who are helping to create jobs, drive growth and attract investment.
Backing small businesses is part of our long term economic plan and I would urge anyone thinking about starting a business to take up the challenge. Wales is a great place to start a business and this government is right behind ambitious entrepreneurs.
The Business is GREAT Britain campaign aims to celebrate and inspire small businesses and is run by BIS and UKTI. It provides relevant advice and information for small and medium sized enterprises looking to grow, hire, export, lead and access finance.
There is a single place for all businesses to go for help
