We’re #AllFiredUp for National Apprenticeship Week!
All this week, we will be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week.
Organised by the government, National Apprenticeship Week (3-7 February) is an annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships across England and is a time to recognise and applaud apprenticeship success stories across the country.
One of the most common misconceptions about apprenticeships amongst parents and young people is still that apprenticeships are only for 16-17 year olds, and that they are only employed to make the tea. This year’s theme for National Apprenticeship Week, “Look Beyond” is aiming to address these stereotypes head-on and help celebrate the diversity of opportunity and value that apprenticeships bring to individuals of all ages, employers and the economy.
Colleges, training providers, employers and apprentices themselves all get involved in the celebration and come together via social media to shout about how fantastic apprenticeships are, and how on-the-job learning can provide a fantastic springboard into a wide variety of career opportunities.
At NCFE, our core message is around ‘promoting and advance learning’ - we are firm advocates of creating parity of esteem between academic and technical education, and offering opportunities to all kinds of learners. It’s with this in mind that we currently have 22 apprentices working across the business, supporting the digital marketing, business administration and technology teams to name but a few.
In addition to our internal apprenticeship offer however, through EPA Plus, we also help thousands of young people across the country to successfully pass through gateway to end-point assessment every year, offering a wide range of apprenticeship standards which you can learn more about via our website. We were delighted last year alone to register 7,500 apprentices and complete EPA for over 1,100 apprentices with a 99% pass rate.
To truly celebrate the difference that apprenticeships can make to peoples’ lives, EPA Plus will be taking over our social media channels all week where the team will be sharing a range of videos, webinars, blogs and content about our offer, along with some of our customer success stories and much more!
