What role can radio spectrum policy play in helping to combat climate change?

UK SPF are commissioning Plum Consulting to conduct a study on this very topic.

Recently the IPCC published a report stating, ‘It is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, ocean and land’.[1]

Given climate changes impact it is a high-profile policy topic for national and international governments and bodies. For example, in June 2019 the UK Government passed legislation requiring the Government to reduce the UK’s net emissions of greenhouse gases by 100% relative to 1990 levels by 2050.

Yet, it is also widely acknowledged that achieving specified targets is highly challenging and requires action across several sectors.

To this end, UK SPF published an invitation to tender and are now commissioning Plum Consulting to study aspects of spectrum policy which are closely related to the efforts of ensuring climate-neutrality.

Hear the study’s findings

We are aiming to get the study’s findings presented to an open forum on Thursday 21 October, 14:00-16:00 GMT.
