YPO took home gold at the Inside Out Awards as we were crowned Public Sector Employer of the Year. 

The Inside Out awards is an annual awards ceremony that celebrates organisations and initiatives that champion mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. 

Taking place in the Troxy, a grade two listed art deco music venue in London’s East end, the Gala Evening is attended by organisations from up and down the country. 

The theme for the awards was ‘back to the 80’s’. The evening was a great celebration of the growing recognition of mental health in the workplace; made even better by the accreditation the organisation received. 

Our pledge to the Mindful Employer Charter that MD Simon Hill signed on mental health day 2024, and expanding and investing in our Mental Health First Aid (MHF) network providing refresher training and CPD sessions, were key to our accreditation. 

We also received positive recognition for over 40 YPO employees attending safeTalk suicide alertness training, and the new in-house ‘The Five Ways to Wellbeing’ workshops that were launched. 

Introducing mandatory mental health training for all managers, as well as awareness sessions for all staff also received positive praise. 

The whole organisation approach we champion, creating a positive culture throughout every level of the organisation is what set us apart from the rest of the nominees and crowned us the winners. 

As an employer we recognise the importance of positive mental wellbeing in all our employees and across the organisation.  

Over the past 18 months, our wellbeing team, headed by Corina Carney, have done an excellent job in creating a mental health and wellbeing support network. 

The team has raised awareness about the impact of mental health, how it can affect any of us, and shared the best ways on how to reach out and seek help. 

Our win at the inside out awards is an accreditation to them and the positive change in culture they have implemented.
