Starting the New Year with some good news: techUK has joined the European Services Forum, a network of representatives from the European services sector committed to actively promoting the liberalisation of international trade and investment in services.

ESF’s main field of activity are the WTO GATS negotiations, the Plurilateral E-Commerce negotiations and the EU’s bilateral trade negotiations on services and investments.

With all the changes coming up for the UK this year, we are happy to promote a digital trade agenda for the United Kingdom and with our partners across the EU and beyond.

Commenting on the membership, Antony Walker, Deputy CEO techUK, yesterday said:

In an era where protectionism is on the rise and multilateralism threatened, we are delighted to join a family of liberal-minded, free trade supporting industries, as we pursue the common goal of promoting and sustaining modern trading best practices.”
