A taste of transport style at designjunction

17 Sep 2015 03:30 PM

A pop-up wooden Tube station opens late next week to celebrate the best of British transport design.

The life-size Underground station, created and hand-painted by Camilla Barnard, is being showcased at designjunction from 24 to 27 September to highlight TfL's Transported by Design programme.

It will showcase new TfL collections from AJ Wells, Alice Made This, Coolicon Lighting, Lindsey Lang, Mini Moderns, Michelle Mason and Swoon Editions.

Alongside the wooden station is TfL and the East London Liquor Company's 'Pick restaurant', named in honour of Frank Pick, founder of TfL's many iconic designs.

The restaurant features the new TfL design collections and will be serving classic British dishes with a contemporary twist along with spirits from drinks company's own distillery.

See the wooden station and Pick Restaurant at designjunction (the College, 12 Southampton Row, Holborn) from 24 to 27 September as part of the London Design Festival.

Find out more and see a selection of products at the TfL shop.
