Albanian crime group duo jailed over cocaine and semi-automatic handgun

Two members of an Albanian organised crime group have been jailed for drugs and firearms offences.

Zyber Tusha, 47, was today (Fri 24 July) sentenced to 12 years and six months when he appeared at Harrow Crown Court.

He admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a firearm.

Alongside him was Oltjan Serferi, 21, of no fixed abode, who admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to four years.

The London Organised Crime Partnership – comprising officers from the National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police – arrested Tusha at his home on the Beaufort Estate, Colindale in north west London, on 5 February this year.

Inside his flat were 19kg of cocaine with a street value of around £1.5m and a Springfield semi-automatic handgun loaded with 14 bullets. Officers also recovered £40,615 in cash, six fake IDs, five mobile phones and 21kg of cutting agent.

While they were arresting Tusha, Serferi arrived with a bag containing another 4kg of cocaine with a street value of £320,000.

He dropped the bag and ran off but officers quickly caught him.

Both men were in the United Kingdom illegally. They will be deported upon completion of their jail sentences.

Senior investigating officer Andrew Tickner said: “Firearms and Class A drugs are inextricably bound together by crime groups like these and they pose so many threats to the community.

“The OCP will continuing doing all we can to protect Londoners by removing such offenders from our streets.”
