All aboard for Totally Thames

This month, the Totally Thames festival will stage more than 150 art and cultural events throughout the 42-mile stretch of the river in London.

Among the highlights will be a major art installation in the centre of the Thames next to Millennium Bridge. Floating Dreams, by South Korean artist Ik-Joong Kang, is a three-storey-high illuminated lantern constructed from 500 drawings.

The tall ships will be back on the river from Thursday 15 September for four days, offering people the chance for a nostalgic river cruise.

The ships will sail between Woolwich Royal Arsenal, Greenwich and Tower Bridge, with fireworks adding to the drama of the evening experience.

To encourage people to get involved this month, river operators MBNA Thames Clippers, Thames River Services, Circular Cruise Westminster, City Cruises and Turk Launches are offering two-for-one river experience tickets.

With these being valid through September, there has never been a better time to climb aboard and enjoy London from the river.
