Announcement of Opportunity: UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) Director

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), on behalf of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), are inviting applications for a new interdisciplinary director of the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC).

UKERC acts a focal point for UK energy research and a gateway between the UK and the international energy research communities and carries out world-class research into sustainable future energy systems. Its interdisciplinary, whole systems research informs UK policy development and strategies of public, private and third sector organisations.

The Director will be responsible for the overall leadership of UKERC, including oversight, co-ordination and integration of the research programme.

The successful applicant should have a research and/or policy background with a clear grasp of the multidisciplinary research landscape including an understanding or appreciation of whole-system energy research.
