The NCSC’s Annual review 2018 – tells the story of our second year, with interviews, testimonials, images and data that take you behind the scenes at the NCSC.

Two years have passed since the NCSC became fully operational and this review provides a snapshot of our work over the period 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2018 highlighting the progress we have made, the challenges overcome and the threats we face particularly the sustained threat from hostile actors.  We outline our plans for the future and the successes we have achieved, in our second year, to deliver our ambition to make the UK the safest place to live and work online.

A note from CEO Ciaran Martin:

“I’m extremely proud to show how the NCSC has strengthened the UK’s defences against those who seek to harm us online.

“The Internet was not designed with security in mind and, from a security perspective, there are significant flaws in the way it operates.

“As we move into our third year, I’m confident that the NCSC will continue to provide the best line of defence in the world to help us thrive in the digital age.”
